Access audits identify areas where access to existing buildings and landscapes could be improved for everyone. The resultant audit report enables owners and managers to make improvements in line with legal duties and social expectations.
Our reports provide an appraisal of existing accessibility; make recommendations for improvements and help to establish priorities for improvement. The audit report can also recommend longer-term measures, which may not be required by current legislation but which would bring the standard of access in line with emerging best practice.
Our audit methodology assesses access as a sequential journey, commencing with approach to the site. The review will include car parking and drop-off, external approaches, entrances, horizontal and vertical circulation, signage, emergency evacuation and any areas particular to the building’s function.
