Developers, owner occupiers and tenants are becoming increasingly aware of the need for inclusive access for both the public and employees. Building values and a developments marketability now depend in part, on how accessible a building is perceived, in relation to the DDA and both current and emerging access standards.
One of DBAs goals is to provide guidance at the earliest stage of a development project, to assist the designers to achieve the development brief, without compromising the design intent but incorporating best access principles. This also assists the design to include best practice standards.
Tenants are also concerned to know whether the development they are considering meets their obligations under the DDA. Through their involvement with the design at each stage, DBA are able to remove such anxieties.
